Beaver Dominates CCAC in Straight Sets
Three straight set victories, give Beaver their second win of the season.
In a dazzling display of skill and teamwork, Penn State Beaver's women's volleyball team swept CCAC in a commanding 3-0 victory at the Beaver Field House. The team showcased their prowess with a series of powerful plays and strategic maneuvers, leaving CCAC struggling to keep pace. This victory marks a significant moment for Penn State Beaver, as they continue to build momentum in the early stages of the season.
Linnea Pilarski contributed 5 kills, with 1 service ace and 7 digs, totaling 6 points. Hannah Hoffman played a pivotal role with 3 service aces and 12 digs, contributing 3 points to the team's total. Laila Funkhouser demonstrated efficiency with 3 kills, boasting a .400 hitting percentage. She also added 2 service aces, totaling 5 points. Bryanna Neiberg led the team with 13 kills on 27 attempts, achieving a .222 hitting percentage. Her performance included 4 service aces and 7 digs, amassing a team-high 17 points. Aubrey Pulliam delivered 3 kills on 11 attempts with a .273 hitting percentage. She also provided 18 assists and 1 service ace, contributing 5 points. Mackenzie Mitchell provided 11 assists and 6 digs, playing a crucial role in the team's coordination and defense. Julianna Butler added 9 kills on 18 attempts, achieving a .333 hitting percentage, and contributed 9 points to the team's victory. With a total of 35 kills, 18 errors, and 90 total attempts, Penn State Beaver achieved a .189 hitting percentage, showcasing their offensive strength and strategic gameplay. The team's cohesive effort and individual performances were instrumental in securing this decisive win.
The team is now 2-6 on the season with conference play beginning on Saturday. The Volleyball team will take the court once again on Saturday, September 13th at 2pm when they take on Penn State New Kensington.
