Beaver take two more 3-0 wins in PSUAC Crossover Weekend

STATE PARK, Pa.—The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team captured both wins in Sunday's matches against Penn State Hazleton (3-0) and Penn State Brandywine (3-0) during Day two of PSUAC Crossover Weekend.

Beaver banked a 3-0 victory against Hazleton in game one after edging out a 25-18 win in set one, 25-16 in set two and a 13-point victory in the last set at 25-12.

Sophomore Ramiya White (Westland/Wayne Memorial) led the way with 15 kills, while sophomore Maria Slater (Houston/Elsik) contributed four aces. Sophomore Emily Keener (Utica) led the team in assists with 13. On defense, sophomore Heaven Bowman (Houston/Dulles) led the team with 29 digs.

The Lady Lions then locked down another 3-0 victory in game two against Brandywine with a 25-14 win in set one, a 25-16 win in set two and a 25-18 win in the final set. 

White led the offense with nine kills. Sophomore Kelsie Hallum (Hopewell) led the team in assists with 27. Bowman led the team with 31 digs.

Beaver improves to 11-5 overall record for the regular season and sits at 3-2 in the PSUAC conference standings. 

The Lady Lions will be back for a PSUAC road match against Penn State Du Bois Wednesday, Oct. 9. Game time is at 7 p.m.
