Buffalo, NY- The Penn State Beaver women's basketball had another amazing season come to an end in the 1st round of the USCAA tournament on Wednesday. After capturing their 11th PSUAC Chanpionship a week ago, the rust from sitting a week showed, as Beaver fell to Miami Hamilton 72-37.
Miami jumped out to a 24-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Herriers led 35-20 at the half. Miami out scored Beaver 17-6 in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
In the loss, Beaver was led by 1st Year Katie Enderle (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) who scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebouds, recording her 3rd double-double in the last 3 games. 2nd Year Emery Black (New Braunsfeld, Tx) added 8 points and 8 rebounds. Shooting was the downfall for the Lions, as they shot 13 for 60 (21%) from the field. Beaver was also 2-13 from behind the arc.
The women will play a final game, a consolation game, Thursday at 3:15PM. They will take on Maine Augusta.
