Richmond, VA - The Lady Lions fell to Johnson & Wales - Charlotte in the second round of the USCAA National Tournament, ending their run to defend their National Championship title and leaving them with only one remaining game this season. The ladies fought hard all season and battled their way back after a slow start to the year. The team came together and rightfully earned their spot as the #1 West PSUAC team this season and earned the #8 seed in the USCAA Tournament. After their hard battles they will finish the season with another PSAUC title and another trip to Nationals under their belts.
In this tough match-up agaist Johnson & Wales - Charlotte, senior, Jimya Chambers led for Beaver with 17 points, 7 steals, and 1 block. Close behind was sophomore, Kyra Seggewiss who scored 10 points, had 15 rebounds and 2 steals. Beaver fought hard and the bench came to life scoring 12 of their total points. As a team they shot 58.3% from the line and had a total of 44 rebounds.
The Lady Lions next game will be on Wednesday, March, 8th at 5pm at Richard Bland's Statesman Hall. The game will be live streamed so make sure to check in and cheer them on in their final game of the season.
