Uniontown, PA- The Men's Basketball team took on Penn State Mont Alto on Friday, in the USCAA National Tournament semi-final.
Beaver came out hot. Building a 14-7 lead by the first media time out (14:47 1st half). They extended the lead to 40-30 at Halftime.
In the second half, Beaver controlled the game. They extended the lead to 20 with 14 minutes to play. Beaver lead by as many as 28 in second half. In the end, Beaver downed Mont Alto 85-61.
In the win, Beaver was led in scoring by Senior Nick Miller (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) with 24 and Sophomore Rob Agurs (Penn Hills/Pittsburgh, PA) with 20. Senior Chris Weathers (New Brighton/New Brighton, PA) added a double-double, 17 points and ten rebounds in the winning effort.
Beaver, now 21-6 overall, advances to the USCAA National Championship, where they take on #3 seeded Andrews University. This will be Beaver's second appearance in the title game. Game time is set for 9:45 p.m. in Uniontown in the Main Arena on the campus of Penn State Fayette.
