Rochester, PA -- The Penn State Beaver men's soccer team hosted Penn State York for another conference matchup. The Beaver men come into this one looking to snap a two game losing streak and to improve on their 3-1 conference record so far. The men have looked very good so far this season and will look to continue to preform well in conference play against York.

The first half started off as a sloppy showing for both teams. As the field was wet with rain still coming down, you could see that both sides were having trouble getting around cleanly on the field. Within the first three minutes York became the first team to take advantage of the sloppy play as they scored the game's first goal. Beaver quickly answered with a goal that was made possible by the sloppy field conditions. However the tie game didn't last long as in the sixth minute York scored another goal taking the lead for good in the half as Beaver seemed to have some struggles throughout the rest of the half.

Beaver came out in the second half looking a lot more organized than they did in the first half. As the field conditions continued to get better and York started to tire, Beaver really began to take hold of the game. In the 77th minute Beaver's Dom DeMino scored the game tying goal that would eventually send the teams into overtime. At the start of overtime it was easy to see that the York squad was tiring fast and Beaver continued to keep fresh legs on the field and control the game. It looked inevitable that Beaver would score and in the third minute of overtime it was Dom DeMino who scored on a header to win the game for Beaver.

Beaver showed real determination coming back to win this game against a real tough opponent in Penn State York. The team was able to come back from some sloppy play in the first half to dominating this one by the end of overtime. Thanks to Beaver's Dom Demino, who scored three goals including the game winner, Beaver has improved their record to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play. The team will take the field next on Tuesday, October 4 at Hiram. Game time is set for 7:30 pm.
